MHA’s Privacy Policy

The Mental Health Association of Nassau County is committed to maintaining your confidence and trust and accordingly maintains the following privacy policy to protect personal information you provide.

MHA’s  Commitment To Security

Physical, electronic and managerial procedures have been employed to safeguard the security and integrity of personal information.  The MHA encrypts billing information whenever the consumer requests it.  Personal information requests are accessible only by staff and volunteers designated to handle questions.  MHA contractors with access to personal information obtained on the MHA website are also bound to adhere to this policy as part of their contract with the MHA.

Personal Information That The MHA May Collect On Line

The MHA collects the following types of personal information: names, postal and e-mail addresses, phone and facsimile numbers, billing information and requests for information.

How The MHA May Use Personal Information Collected Online

Requests for information are responded to directly.  Names may be added to our database for future mailings of information and educational programs.

Individuals or businesses that participate in fundraising events or appeals online may receive future solicitations.  Requests to have a name removed from mailing lists are honored immediately.

How Your Information Is Not Shared

The MHA does not share its mailing list with any business or organization for solicitation purposes.  On occasion the MHA will mail announcements of training events sponsored by a colleague organization, but does not provide the list to that organization.

Computer Tracking and Cookies

Our website is not set up to track, collect or distribute personal information not entered by its visitors.  Our site logs do generate certain kinds of non-identifying site usage data, such as the number of hits and visits to our site.  This information is used for internal purposes by technical support staff to provide better services to the public.

A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from a Web Server and stored on your computer’s hard drive.  The MHA may use non-identifying cookies to provide easier site navigation and access to forms.  You  can still use the MHA site if your browser is set to reject cookies.  Our cookies do not generate personal data, do not read personal data from your machine and are never tied to anything that could be used to identify you.
