Saltzman Family Scholarships
    
The Board of Directors awards $500 scholarships to individuals with a mental illness who are continuing their education at the post-secondary level (college or trade school) and have demonstrated ability during at leasto one semester of attendance.  In each of the past 3 years, 10 scholarships have been given.  Funds must be used to defray direct expenses, including tuition, books and materials and other related costs. 
     Scholarships are awarded in the late spring, with applications due in March of each year.  To request information and the applications, individuals are encouraged to contact Adrienne Mantis, 489-2322, ext.1251, or amantis@mhanc.org.

Velia Sarro Memorial Scholarship
      Long-time Board member William Kuhl established a  Scholarship Fund in memory of Velia Sarro.  A $500 scholarship will be given in the late spring of the year to assist an individual with mental illness pursue college or trade school studies.  Application procedure and time frame is the same as the Saltzman Scholarships above.

Tuition Assistance for Employees
      The MHA offers tuition assistance to individuals who have been employed full-time by the agency for at least one year. Assistance can be requested for education that is directly related to work at the agency and can be spread over several years.  To request information, an employee should speak first with his/her supervisor and then contact the Human Resources Department for details.
